The registry

Every artwork carries a number. This registry says what that number produced: how many sheets were issued, and where each one stands.

It is printed on the certificate, under the code. For example ARS-0001.

The certificate of authenticity is a sheet of paper, signed by the artist, that travels with the artwork. One sheet per copy. This registry does not replace it: it lets anyone check, from the outside, that a number really exists.

You will find no names here, no date of a moment, no measurements. A registry exists to verify an artwork, not to learn something about whoever owns it.
