What people ask us

ARSENTIS composes artworks from your heartbeats. You wear a smart ring during a moment that matters to you, the smart ring records your heartbeats, and the studio composes a unique artwork from those heartbeats, shipped to you.

$400 CAD per person, smart ring included. The artwork, the frame, the certificate of authenticity and shipping within Canada are included. The price follows the format; every paper is the same price. Two in a single artwork: $500 CAD. One more framed copy: $300 CAD.

Yes. Every person’s heart varies constantly, even at rest, and the smart ring records those variations.

The number of people depends on the guide. Connection and Wedding are for two; Solo, alone; Carte Blanche and Memory, alone, or with others; Presence, from two to several. Each person receives their own artwork and keeps their smart ring: $400 CAD per person. Two in a single artwork: $500 CAD.

Two formats per artwork, named after the frame as width × height: 11 × 14 in and 18 × 24 in for a portrait artwork, 14 × 11 in and 24 × 18 in for a landscape artwork; 12 × 12 in and 16 × 16 in for a square artwork. You choose the format when ordering, and the price follows the format. You also choose the paper, from fine art papers that all share the same price.

Yes. The artwork arrives framed, ready to hang, with its certificate, in its box. The format listed is the size of the frame.

A Connection moment lasts around thirty minutes on average. Ten minutes at the very least so there are enough heartbeats, an hour at most.

From the page that fits you: For me, For us two or For all of us. You choose your artwork and colours, you pay once, and your smart rings ship within three business days.

With a piece of string and a ruler: wrap the string around the base of the finger, mark where the string meets, measure that length, then find that length in the size guide’s table. The same table is in the order flow, on the sizes screen. Between two sizes, take the larger one: the smart ring reads the heartbeat better on a finger that sits easy.

We ask for each person’s size when you order. When in doubt, size up: the smart ring reads the heartbeat better on a finger that sits easy. The smart rings are yours: the sale of the smart rings is final. A faulty smart ring is replaced at our cost within the 90 days following your order.

Yes. Order two to three weeks before the gift date, so the smart rings arrive in time. On the day, you give the smart rings and the moment to live; the artwork arrives about two weeks after that moment.

You choose the date after your smart rings arrive. The capture starts when you press Start in the ARSENTIS app.

Yes, within 30 days of your order and before your capture begins: write to us and we refund the price of the artwork. We keep the cost of the smart rings, which stay with you: $75 CAD per ring. Once your capture begins, the order can no longer be cancelled. A lost parcel or an artwork damaged in transit is replaced.

Yes, ideally one phone per person: each person installs the ARSENTIS app and pairs their smart ring to the app. A single phone can also follow two smart rings. The ARSENTIS app page explains installing, signing in and the four steps; the link to that page is also in your confirmation email. During the capture, keep the phone in the same room as the smart ring so the trace stays complete.

The smart ring records only between Start and Finish: recording begins when you press Start and stops when you press Finish.

The smart ring records only the variation of blood volume under your skin: your heartbeat and its irregularities.

Yes, as many times as you like: you keep your smart rings. Record another moment the next day, or the next month. In the ARSENTIS app, you then choose the moment that becomes the artwork. Each order produces one artwork.

At home. The smart rings arrive by post, you live your moment whenever you want, and the artwork is shipped to you.

Yes, it works. Each person wears their smart ring and uses their own phone, and you live the moment together, at the same time. Connection was designed for the same room, facing each other.

The smart ring arrives charged, with its charger. Charge the smart ring the day before your moment: the battery lasts a few days. The smart ring is water resistant and can be worn in the shower and the pool.

Yes, the smart rings are yours. You reuse your smart rings for another moment and another artwork. Paired with the manufacturer’s app, your smart rings track your sleep, your steps, your heart rate, your blood oxygen and your temperature, every day. The ARSENTIS app is used only for the capture.

The artwork shows every variation of your heart rhythm during the capture: the emotional imprint of your moment. What you said to each other stays between you.

Your data stays in our archives to tie your certificate to your capture and make our work progress. Information that identifies you is published only with your written consent. You can ask us to delete your data by email, at any time; we act on the request within thirty days. After deletion, the certificate remains; the signal of your capture, used to re-authenticate the artwork, is erased.

You choose the artwork, its overall form and two colours. The composition comes entirely from what your hearts did during the capture.

The first colour appears when your heart speeds up, the second when your heart slows down. At rest, the trace keeps a neutral tone. The balance between the two colours comes from your heart.

Yes. Every person, at every moment, produces a different heart trace: every artwork is unique.

The certificate of authenticity is a numbered document linking your artwork to your capture. Each certificate has its own online page.

The artwork is printed on fine art paper and framed: the artwork on your wall is the original. For someone close to you, add a framed copy to your order, in the same format and on the same paper, with its own certificate, numbered 1 of N: $300 CAD in the small format. The edition closes when you order: copies are ordered only at that point.

Your smart rings leave the studio within three business days, with a tracking number; allow one to two weeks for delivery. The artwork arrives about two weeks after your moment ends: the studio composes and prints the artwork on fine art paper from your trace.

Yes. Shipping your smart rings and your framed artwork, in its box, is included in Canada. Elsewhere, shipping is calculated at checkout.

Every line of the artwork comes from what your hearts did. The studio composes the artwork and keeps your trace as it is. With your smart rings, you record as many moments as you like and you choose the moment that becomes the artwork.
