One gift that belongs to both
What gets opened under the tree is a box with two smart rings and their charger. Each of them wears one. There is no main recipient and no accessory: the final artwork is composed from both traces, and would not exist with only one.
The artwork is then printed once, on fine art paper, with a numbered certificate. It hangs in a room they share. It is a shared object by construction, not by courtesy.
The rings stay with them afterwards. Paired with the manufacturer’s app, they track sleep, steps and heart rate day to day. The gift does not stop when the evening stops.
